Budget Travel to Disney with Baby or Toddler

If you have an 18-23 month old, consider Disney World as a budget travel option. First is, you get the free airfare until they are two. Second, admission to the park is free for kids under two years old. In addition, many of the buffet restaurants in Disney and Epcot will let your toddler eat for free.

Skip the Car - Stay at Disney

While there are many budget hotels just outside Disney property, you might find it a lot easier to stay at a Disney property and take advantage of the free Disney Magical Express airport shuttle. The Disney hotels may cost a bit more, but you can avoid the cost of renting a car (and either bringing/renting the car seat...) if you take advantage of the airport shuttle and use the Bus/monorail services from the Disney Properties. My recommendation is to check out the Pop Century Hotel for its low cost, the fun pool/sprinklers that your toddler will enjoy, and the simplified cafeteria style dining that this hotel offers.

Toddlers Love the Rides and Character Photos

Disney has lots of opportunities to take pictures with the Characters... Mickey, Goofy, Jojo, etc. We took our son when he was 20 months old and he loved every photo opportunity. Our older nephew that traveled with us was a bit more intimidated, so even though your toddler won't remember much of this trip, these photo opps are worth the trip in by themselves! We also found that our son was not scared and really enjoyed all the theme rides including Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan,  and Winnie the Pooh. So yes, there is plenty to do with your toddler.

And yes, you'll have to take the Dumbo ride!
