SixInTheWorld On Oprah
SixInTheWorld, a family of six from Utah that took a year off to travel the world is scheduled to be on the Oprah Winfrey show Monday, April 2. I first wrote about Six In The World's trip in Family of Six goes on Yearlong Journey around the World and revealed some of their secrets on prepping for this trip, choosing destinations, and raising kids that are interested and prepared to travel the globe. Or better yet, read about it their Top 6 Goals for the Trip.
Since then, well, they've been pretty much everywhere I dream of visiting. From their visit to the Crocoseum at the Australian Zoo just after Steve Irwin's passing, to visiting China's Great Wall (How Great is Your Wall, How Heavenly Your Temple?), or you can just get The Skinny on India.
Then there's my favorite write-ups from Tom on Getting Fat in Beijing, Getting Fat in Hanoi, and Getting Fat in Thailand. I am a foodie after all!
But for family travelers, if you really want to be inspired check out some of the entries written by the kids. McKane writes about camel riding in India and looking for hippos in Swaziland and St.Lucia. Then there is Dax's Day on the Dunes (sand-boarding in Namibia) and bungy jumping off the Auckland Harbor Bridge.
Now if this doesn't inspire you to book a trip...

Wow! That family's traveling escapades are really amazing! I read all their linked articles in this post and my favorites are the ones written by the kids, most especially the "Looking for hippos"!
